I started reading a book called ” App Kid: How a Child of Immigrants Grabbed a Piece of the American Dream” by Michael Sayman.
It’s about a Latino immigrant who taught himself how to code as a 13-year-old. He taught himself to code using online tutorials he found while googling “how to code”. Within a year, he had launched an iPhone app that was making in thousands of dollars a month. At the time when his parents watched their restaurant business collapse in the wake of the recession.
At 17, he was Facebook’s youngest employee ever, building new features that wowed Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder, and are now being used by more than half a billion people every day. Later he joined Google and now he works for Roblox.
The story is inspiring and I’m hoping the Drag & Drop Kid website would inspire many Arab Kids to use its tutorial courses to learn programming in an easy and fun way.
